Boil together for 5 minutes:
2 cups syrup
¼ lb butter
¼ lb lard
Remove from heat and add:
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
4 cups flour
Mix together well.
Roll dough out very thin and cut into cookie shapes (can use a glass for this or cookie cutters). Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350˚ until golden.
