The Story of Andy Kjearsgaard

Introduction
Since this account of my childhood is being related 60 years after the fact, many events have faded from memory. Here's what I remember about growing up on a Danish-Canadian farm:
Getting Settled in Canada
I was pretty young when we came to Canada, so I have a rather peculiar collection of very early memories.

o No More Sago Soup
o Take a Chance on Us

Farm Kids
I don't remember everything about my boyhood on the farm. But I have one overriding memory: ours was a happy home.

o Life with Father
o To School and Back
o Danish Summer School
o Christmas on the Farm

Playing Around
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Despite having school and daily farm chores, we spent plenty of time playing games and horsing around.

o You're the Dirty Rascal
o Daredevils' Playground
o Asking for Trouble

Becoming a Man
Kids grew up fast in Depression times. We Kjearsgaard boys could hardly wait because being grown up meant being just like Dad.

o Pocket Money
o Learning to Work
o Putting Food on the Table
o Taking Care of Business
o The Day I Grew Up
o My Hockey Career
